LHC directs that Pervaiz Elahi’s name be taken off of PCL
Parvez Elahi and others’ petitions were granted approval by LHC Judge Shams Mahmood Mirza.
The state’s attorney disputed the plea, but the Home Ministry’s report was given to the court, and the court ordered that Parvez Elahi, Rasikh Elahi, and Zara Elahi’s names be removed from the PCL.
The law officer notified the court at the beginning of the hearing that Parvez Elahi, Rasikh Elahi, and Zara Elahi’s names had been taken off of PCL and subsequently ECL; however, on July 8, the names were returned to PCL.
A request to have his name removed from the Passport Control List (PCL) was made earlier, on August 29, by PTI President Chaudhary Pervaiz Elahi in a motion to the Lahore High Court (LHC).
The court should strike the names of Chaudhary Parvez Elahi, his son Rasikh Elahi, and his daughter-in-law Zara Elahi from PCL, according to the plea submitted by Abuzar Salman Niazi on behalf of the Elahi family.
The appeal asked for the family members’ names to be removed from PCL because the former chief minister of Punjab planned to travel outside to undertake Umrah with his family.
With no customary press statement, PTI’s President was freed from prison on May 21 after a year-long legal fight.
Elahi thanked fans in a statement following his release for their steadfast help during his recent hardships. I express my gratitude to Allah for bestowing upon me the bravery to stay firm. Additionally, I am appreciative of the judges who upheld the truth and gave me their support.
