The Pakistani government chooses to “dissolve” SAFRON Ministry
In accordance with the specifics, the Rightsizing Committee’s recommendations will see the SAFRON ministry combined into the Ministry of Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB).
There will be a special committee established to determine what would happen to Jammu & Kashmir State Properties after the administrative branch of the Ministry of SAFRON is folded.
The sources indicate that the state will sell properties when necessary, with the proceeds going into GB and Azad Kashmir’s welfare.
There are also proposals to review and transfer control to the government of Azad Kashmir from the Directorate of Health Services (DHS) of GB and Kashmir.
The sources indicated that the Ministry of Health will be consulted while managing DHS money for GB.
Additionally, the Chief Commissioner’s Office for Afghan Refugees, the Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir Councils, and the Jammu and Kashmir Refugee Rehabilitation Organization are all scheduled to reduce staff.
Planning Ministry has suggested dissolution of CPEC Authority, Secretary Planning Commission informed Senate Committee earlier.
“The Planning Commission has sent Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif a summary for the authority’s dissolution.”
“The right-sizing committee has been given permission by the prime minister to dissolve the authority,” a planning commission representative said.
