CM Gandapur reemerges in the KP assembly following a recent ‘absence.’
Following his unexpected return to the provincial parliament, the assembly members cordially welcomed CM Ali Amin Gandapur.
The Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa took satisfaction in representing his province and commended the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protestors who support the party.
In his presentation to the assembly, Gandapur articulated his pride in representing his province and affirmed his allegiance to the PTI, declaring, “I commend the people of Pakistan who support the party founder.”
The Speaker of the KP Assembly had issued directives to summon Ali Amin Gandapur and other Provincial Assembly members.
The Speaker sought the Advocate General’s advice concerning the production orders pursuant to Article 165A of the Constitution.
The Advocate General stated that members of the Sindh provincial assembly were detained by the Punjab government, highlighting that the Lahore High Court’s orders require the universal application of production orders.
He additionally asserted that the statute permits the Speaker to make production orders pursuant to Section 165A, thereby validating the procedure for all impacted assembly members.
