Nation remembers victims of catastrophic earthquake on October 8, 2005
In addition to severely damaging infrastructure, particularly in Azad Kashmir and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the 2005 earthquake took thousands of lives.
To show support and sympathy for the victims of tragedies, several events are being planned throughout the nation, especially in Azad Jammu & Kashmir.
Mosques said special prayers in honor of the martyrs and the nation’s prosperity as the day broke. At 8:54 a.m., there was a minute of silence observed throughout district headquarters.
An earthquake of a magnitude of 4.4 that struck Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and the surrounding areas in December of last year caused significant disruptions.
The earthquake struck portions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Rawalpindi, and Islamabad at around 5:30 in the morning, according to the seismological center.
The epicenter of the earthquake was located in Kashmir’s southwest, and its depth measured sixteen kilometers.
People recited Kalma-e-Tayyaba as they fled their homes out of terror. But as yet, no reports of fatalities or property damage have come from anywhere in Islamabad, Rawalpindi.
