Dr. Zakir Naik receives an honorary doctorate from Karachi University
Well-known Islamic scholar and speaker Dr. Zakir Naik has been awarded an honorary doctorate degree (honoris causa) by the University of Karachi.
The degree was given to Dr. Naik in honor of his contributions to Islam by Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori, who also serves as chancellor of the university.
At the invitation of the government, Dr. Naik is in Pakistan as a state visitor. He is scheduled to speak at public events in several locations, including Lahore and Islamabad, till October 28. The researcher has already addressed a group in Karachi and interacted with prominent government figures, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Governor Tessori encouraged Dr. Naik to maintain his commitment to teaching Islam and commended him for his participation in discussions on Islamic subjects.
The head of the Sindh Higher Education Commission, faculty members, university representatives, and consul generals were present at the convocation ceremony.
The University of Karachi Syndicate granted Dr. Naik an honorary degree in recognition of his contributions to Islam.
