Police officers who subjected journalists to torture will be held accountable. Deputy Inspector General of South

The department is taking action against the police officers who are in charge of the violent behavior toward journalists, which has angered the media community, as stated by DIG South Asad Raza.

DIG South denounced the abuse, saying that it is intolerable to harass journalists in this way, particularly after they had revealed their identity.

Raza declared, “Strict action will be taken against the police officials involved in the ill-treatment,” emphasizing that the South Zone Police is adamantly opposed to any kind of violence directed at journalists.

Additionally, he emphasized the close tie between the police and the press, drawing comparisons to “Choli Daman” (inseparable).

Raza reaffirmed the police’s commitment to holding people accountable and treating media representatives with respect going forward by promising that such behavior will not be accepted at any level.

Law enforcement earlier in the day used violent tactics against some journalists as they dispersed protestors outside the Karachi Press Club (KPC).
