Constitutional Amendments: Nawaz is hosting Fazl and Bilawal dinner today
PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto and JUI chief Fazlur Rehman will have dinner with PML-N President Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday (today) at Jati Umra.
In order to talk about the proposed constitutional revisions, the JUI chairman traveled to Lahore to meet with former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.
After their four-hour meeting in Karachi yesterday, the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) came to an agreement on constitutional reforms.
Speaking at a joint press conference in Karachi, Fazlur Rehman and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari declared their agreement on the suggested constitutional reforms.
Celebrating Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s leadership in the consensus, Maulana Fazlur Rehman announced that his party and the PPP had reached a consensus on the draft of constitutional reforms.
Wednesday (today) is when I shall meet Nawaz Sharif, said Fazlur Rehman.
The JUI-F and PPP have finalized a document, and Bilawal stated that the PML-N will be invited to support it as well. The accord between the PPP and JUI-F will be the starting point for further talks, Bhutto Zardari stated, adding, “We will try to include PML-N in this consensus.”
The PPP leader expressed hope that the parliament will approve their draft of changes by unanimous vote.
He will also meet with the leadership of the PTI, stated the JUI leader. “We’ll do everything in our power to present an amendment draft that is agreed upon by all.”
“If they have agreed over the constitutional court or the constitutional bench,” a reporter inquired, and the JUI leader dodged the topic.
