A committee has been established to investigate misinformation in the “rape” allegation at Lahore College.
In response to rumors about a purported rape event at a private college in Lahore, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has formed a seven-member committee to look into misinformation on social media.
The principal of the college has filed a complaint, and a seven-person investigative team has been assembled. Deputy Director of the FIA Cybercrime Wing oversees the team.
Regarding the “rape” issue at Lahore College, the FIA team has taken action against people who have been disseminating misleading information on social media and upsetting public order.
Authorities from the FIA declared that all available means will be employed to guarantee that those responsible are held accountable.
The high-level committee to look into the alleged “rape” of a female student at a private college was also established earlier by Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz.
The chief secretary of Punjab would serve as the chair of the six-member committee, as per the announcement. Members of the committee will include the secretaries of home affairs, advocacy general of Punjab, higher education, and specialized healthcare.
Mother’s father disputes the rape allegation
In response to persistent demonstrations in his daughter’s honor, the father of a girl who was allegedly beaten by a security officer at a private institution claimed any such incident ever happened.
He said, “Protests that have nothing to do with our daughter are being used as a basis for them.” He revealed that his daughter had fallen at home and broken her back, requiring an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) stay.
He said, looking shocked after seeing video of the protests involving his daughter, “We have given the police our daughter’s medical reports.” “That anguish can be experienced by those who have daughters,” he emphasized.
