Bushra Bibi’s release orders in the Toshakhana-II case
Bushra Bibi, the wife of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, has been ordered to be released from custody in the Toshakhana-II case by an accountability court in Islamabad.
Bushra Bibi was granted bail by the Islamabad High Court (IHC) yesterday in the Toshakhana-II case.
However, the absence of Special Judge Central-2 Hamayun Dilawar and the unavailability of Senior Special Judge Central Shahrukh Arjumand prevented release orders from being issued.
PTI lawyers made multiple attempts, hopping from court to court, but were unable to provide surety guarantees totaling one million rupees as the court hours came to a conclusion.
Bushra Bibi’s attorneys were unable to provide a surety because Administrative Judge Jawad Abbas departed the courtroom after they approached him.
After drawing a comparison between the Qazi Faez Isa assets case and the Toshakhana case against Bushra Bibi, IHC granted her bail.
In his bail request, FIA Prosecutor Umair Majeed appeared before IHC Judge Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb.
The second Toshakhana gift case involves Bushra Bibi, the wife of PTI founder Imran Khan.
