The US once more refutes claims that it was involved in the removal of the PTI founder.
Claims that the United States was involved in the overthrow of former Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday were once again denied by the US State Department.
Matthew Miller, the spokesperson for the US State Department, denied that the US had anything to do with the ouster of Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan during a press conference in Washington.
The claims that the United States meddled in the removal of the PTI founder are “baseless,” Miller explained.
“The legal proceedings against the former Prime Minister are a matter for Pakistani courts alone to decide,” US State Department spokesperson Miller said firmly in response to a question referencing Latif Khosa’s claims that Donald Lu was involved in a conspiracy against the former premier and that the PTI founder would be freed if Trump wins the upcoming US election.
Pakistani citizens alone have the authority to make decisions about their country’s political affairs, he continued.
In response to a question addressing Canada’s claims that Indian Federal Minister Amit Shah was part of a conspiracy against Sikhs, Miller said the accusations were “concerning” and that the United States will keep consulting with Canada on the subject.
Earlier last week, Sardar Latif Khosa, a senior lawyer and leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, asserted that PTI founder Imran Khan would be released from prison in November.
During an interview with Bakhabar Savera on ARY News, Khosa denied any agreement and stated that the PTI founder will receive legal assistance.
Khosa stated in a statement regarding the impending US presidential elections that the issue of the PTI founder’s release may be impacted by them. If Donald Trump were to win, Khosa said, the political environment might change in the PTI founder’s favor.
