In Bannu IBO, an army major was one of three murdered, and eight Khwarij were killed.

Two Army personnel, including a major, accepted martyrdom after Pakistani security forces killed eight Khawarij in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Bannu area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Security Forces carried out an intelligence-based operation in the general Bakka Khel, Bannu District, on October 30, 2024, in response to reports of Khwarij’s presence, according to the military’s media wing.

Major Atif Khalil, a courageous commander who was leading his forces from the front, battled valiantly and embraced Shahadat with his two men during the fierce gunfight, it was said. Khalil is 31 years old and from District Sudhanuti in AJ&K.

According to the statement, eight Khwarij were killed and seven were injured when own soldiers successfully participated in the operation and engaged Khwarij’s site.

The two soldiers who gave their lives were Lance Naik Ghazanfar Abbas (35 years old, from District Layyah) and Naik Azad Ullah (36 years old, from District Karak).

“A sanitization operation is being conducted to eradicate any additional Kharjij situated in the region, as Pakistani security forces are committed to eliminating the threat of terrorism, and such valiant soldiers’ sacrifices further strengthen our resolve,” the statement continued.

Pakistani security forces had earlier conducted two intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, killing four Khawarij.

On October 9, security personnel carried out an intelligence-based operation in the approximate vicinity of Janikhel, Bannu District, in response to reports of Khwarij. According to the military’s media wing, two Khwarij were consigned to hell during a fierce gunfight during the operation.

According to the statement, on October 10, 24 another operation was carried out in the general region of Hassan Khel, North Waziristan District. Own troops successfully engaged the Khwarij site, and two more Khwarij were shot dead during the ensuing firefight.
