PTI founder’s request for bail: FIA served notice in the matter of Toshakhana II

According to specifics, Imran Khan’s bail request was denied by the special judge central, while his wife, Bushra Bibi, was granted release in the same case.

The case has been postponed indefinitely; the registrar will reschedule it for the specified dates.

The FIA contested Imran Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi’s bail in the Supreme Court’s Toshakhana-II case yesterday.

In their application, the FIA said that bail was given in the judge’s chamber of the Islamabad High Court, which is against Supreme Court rules. Bushra Bibi and her husband, Imran Khan, were also allegedly implicated in the case, according to the FIA.

Bushra Bibi was previously granted bail by the Islamabad High Court (IHC) in the Toshakhana-II case.

Judge Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb of the IHC granted Bushra Bibi’s post-arrest bail request against Rs1 million in surety bonds.

The court also ordered the relevant authorities to free the former first lady right now.

It’s crucial to remember that in the Toshakhana-II case, a special judge central denied former prime minister Imran Khan and his spouse’s post-arrest bail requests.

Hours after their acquittal in the Iddat case, Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi were arrested on July 13 in connection with a new National Accountability Bureau (NAB) reference pertaining to Toshakhana.

Imran Khan and his spouse were taken from the Adiala Jail by the NAB team led by Deputy Director Mohsin Haroon.

The change occurred after former prime minister Imran Khan and his spouse’s appeals against their conviction in the Iddat case were approved by the district and sessions court of Islamabad.

In February of this year, a trial court determined that the couple’s nikah was fake, and they were given a seven-year prison sentence and a Rs500,000 fine apiece.
