As of October 31, 2024, more than 4.2 million (42,91,105) bales of seed cotton (Phutti) had arrived at ginning facilities throughout Pakistan, representing a 36.84 percent drop over the same period the previous year.
The Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA) released its biweekly report here on Sunday, stating that more than 3.7 million (37,90,139) bales had undergone the ginning process, or were turned into bales.
Compared to the same period previous year, when arrivals were recorded at 29,96,921 bales, Punjab had a decline of 38.53 percent in cotton arrivals, totalling 18,42,257 ha.
Compared to the same period previous year, when arrivals were recorded at 37,97,085 bales, Sindh produced 24,48,848 bales, marked a 35.51 percent reduction.
Baluchistan recorded 1,31,800 bales of seed cotton arrivals.
