In districts of Punjab afflicted by smog, the provincial administration has mandated the wearing of masks.
“Schools will be closed until November 17,” stated Maryam Aurangzeb, the province’s senior minister.
A Punjabi minister has said that 50% of government and business offices will operate online, and the government has also chosen to implement online courses.
Multan, Lahore, Kasur, Sheikhupura, and Gujranwala cities have all been severely impacted by the winds from India, according to Aurangzeb.
“A letter regarding the smog issue will be sent to the foreign office today,” a Punjabi minister stated.
The government is changing the law to allow farmers to burn the remaining crops, she said.

With pollution levels in the city rising to dangerously high levels, Lahore is experiencing a serious air quality problem. The city’s overall Air Quality Index (AQI) reading on Wednesday morning reached a concerning high of 1,165.
According to international air quality monitors, several localities reported even higher AQI values, with Defence Phase VIII hitting 1,696, Davies Road at 1,464, and Gulberg at 1,306.
