Sindh CM requests ADB support for Karachi’s water treatment plant

For the Karachi water treatment facility (TP-4), Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has applied for aid from the Asian Development Bank.

ADB country director Xiaoqin (Emma) Fan met with CM Sindh, and the two parties discussed ADB’s projects in Sindh province, according to the Sindh government spokesperson.

They talked about initiatives pertaining to flood victims’ access to clean water, hygiene, and health.

The Sindh government is constructing safe and secure dwellings for flood victims with assistance from the World Bank, ADB, and other organizations, according to Murad Ali Shah.

The 2.1 million flood-affected homes need a drainage system and restrooms, which required a WASH project.

Due to their inability to pay, the Sindh CM also asked for assistance with solar projects for flood victims’ homes.
