Pakistan restates its call to stop the genocide against Palestinians.
RIYADH—In order to guarantee the timely delivery of food, water, electricity, and medical help, Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s demand for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire in Gaza and the easing of the siege against the territory.
Following the historic advisory ruling by the International Court of Justice, the prime minister emphasized the necessity of putting into effect a resolution that was passed by the UNGA in his speech to the Extraordinary Arab-Islamic Summit in Riyadh on Monday.
PM Shehbaz also demanded a thorough examination of Israel’s UN membership. With reference to Israel’s oppression in Gaza, he claimed that the humanitarian crisis had reached an unthinkable level.
The occupied Palestinian area, particularly Gaza, has been in a perpetual state of despair and suffering for over a year, he said, with families being torn apart, homes being destroyed, and lives being lost.
He posed the question, “How long should humanity ignore hospitals being destroyed as injured mothers clutch the dead bodies of their children?” These atrocities against the Palestinian people have been appropriately labeled as genocide by the media and the International Court of Justice, according to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Every day that passes, Israel continues to flagrantly transgress all moral laws.
According to PM Shehbaz, Israel has gained confidence as a result of the world’s inaction and passivity, as homes and their occupants are being destroyed and humankind’s repeated calls for a ceasefire, unhindered humanitarian relief, and civilian protection are being totally ignored.
Israel continues to receive the most cutting-edge weapons, he noted, which is definitely a symbol of protection and support. “International humanitarian norms that were intended to protect the weak have been totally destroyed,” the prime minister remarked.
The Palestinians’ right to self-determination is something that Pakistan is adamant about supporting, he continued.
Based on pre-1967 borders, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s unflinching support for the creation of an independent, viable, and contiguous state of Palestine, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif serving as its capital. Justice and enduring peace in the holy land can only be achieved in this way.
“It is the only path to justice and lasting peace in the holy land,” the prime minister declared. Pakistan firmly denounced Israel’s recent attacks on Iran as a flagrant breach of its territorial integrity and sovereignty, according to mPM Shehbaz. He also stated, “We equally denounce Israel’s ongoing aggression against Lebanon and stand in complete solidarity with its people.”
Such an escalation by Israel, he said, was a hazardous threat that could lead to a wider conflict.
It is the prime minister’s hope that this summit would be an opportunity to put their words into action. Together, they ought to go beyond denunciation and take immediate action to protect justice and dignity for the Palestinian people as well as all oppressed people.
He also conveyed his sincere appreciation to the wise Saudi leadership for scheduling the meeting.
