Flight schedules throughout Pakistan are significantly disrupted by smog and severe weather.
Smog and severe weather have made flying in Pakistan extremely difficult, especially in Karachi, Lahore, and Multan.
As a result of the region’s dense smog, four flights were canceled and one was diverted to a different airport.
Remarkably, delays occurred on 39 domestic and foreign planes. Significant setbacks were experienced by flights run by Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and other private carriers.
SV 800 and SV 801 flights operated by Saudi Airlines between Jeddah and Multan were canceled. Instead of arriving in Multan as planned, PIA’s aircraft PK 222 touched down in Lahore.
Along with Flight 520, another private carrier route from Karachi to Lahore, a private airline’s Karachi-Lahore flight, which was due to depart at 1:00 p.m., was canceled.
Delays on flights: There were notable delays on flights from Karachi to Lahore, including PIA flights PK 302 and PK 303 as well as flights PA 401 and 405 as well.
Issues also occurred with PIA flights PK 308 and PK 301 and ER 503 from Karachi to Islamabad.
The extensive interruption occurs as bad weather and smog continue to complicate air travel, impacting both domestic and international schedules.
