In the “defamatory remarks” lawsuit against Asif Ali Zardari, Sheikh Rasheed was found not guilty.

Last year, Rasheed was arrested at the Aabpara police station for slandering Asif Ali Zardari.

In the court hearing today, the former minister was accompanied by his attorneys, Sardar Shehbaz Raza and Masroof Khan.

Yasir Mahmood, the judicial magistrate, delivered the reserved ruling in Sheikh Rashid’s appeal for acquittal.

Three charges were brought against Sheikh Rasheed, the head of AML: criminal conspiracy (section 120B), inciting animosity between groups (section 153A), and statements that encourage public mischief (section 505).

According to the complainant PPP divisional president’s FIR, the AML chief attempted to disparage a past president and put the PPP co-chairman and his family in “permanent danger.”

According to the FIR, Rasheed intends to ruin the peace in the nation by inciting a conflict between the PTI and the PPP with his provocative accusations.
