Karachi local government by-elections are won by the PPP.

According to the unofficial and undisclosed results, the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) won 10 of the 11 seats in the Karachi local government by-elections.

According to specifics, the PPP was able to secure ten seats in all, which included four chairmen, numerous councilors, and a vice chairman. Additionally, the PPP was able to secure one cantonment board seat.

The PPP candidates won the following cantonment boards: Ibrahim Hyderi, Landhi, Korangi, Clifton and Model Colony Landhi, Liaquatabad, and Malir.

The Jamaat-e-Islami, meanwhile, was able to capture one councilor seat and one vice-chairman position. The Gulberg ward councilor seat and the Manghopir ward councilor seat were won by the party led by Hafiz Naeemur Rehman.

The Chief Minister’s Special Assistant, Senator Waqar Mehdi, declared after the results that the PPP had won a landslide victory in Karachi and other Sindh regions.

“Jamaat-e-Islami has suffered a humiliating defeat as a result of the rejection of the Karachi populace,” Waqar Mehdi continued.

In Karachi, the province government is working on projects worth more than Rs 200 billion, according to the chief minister’s special assistant, who also attributed the party’s success to their “service for the people.”

Leader of Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Munam Zafar responded by rejecting the election results and accusing the PPP of rampant election tampering and “electoral terrorism.” Against the purported fabrication of results, he pledged to launch a forceful demonstration and legal battle.
