PPP recommends that members elect the PAC chair until a final decision is made.

Members of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) should elect the committee’s chairman until the issue is resolved, according to a formal proposal by the government’s ally, the People’s Party.

PPP Senator Saleem Mandviwalla has written a letter to NA Speaker Ayaz Sadiq and demanded holding a session of the PAC on a requisition of the committee’s members, parliamentary sources said.

Here, it is vital to note that the Parliament has not yet chosen its most significant public accounts committee.

For the PAC session, the eleven members of the Public Accounts Committee have made a request.

In the event that the committee meeting is not formally called, the PPP has promised to call the PAC session itself.

For assistance, Senator Mandviwalla has turned to the Speaker. The letter recommended that “the members themselves elect the head until a permanent chairman being decided.”

According to reports, the Speaker has requested once more that the PTI submit their list of candidates for the PAC chair. Sources claimed that the PTI is adamant about Shaikh Waqas Akram, a member of the party, becoming the chairman of the public accounts committee.

Ayaz Sadiq, the speaker, and former speaker Asad Qaiser met to discuss the issue.

Meanwhile, sources claimed that the PML-N had made hints about supporting the People’s Party for the top PAC seat.
