Palwasha Khan, the chairperson of the Senate Standing Committee on Information Technology, will convene on December 5 to discuss the nation’s ongoing internet crisis.

On the agenda are a review of the ongoing slowness of internet services and an assessment of the financial losses sustained by the IT industry during the previous six months. A thorough briefing on the difficulties facing the industry will be given during this time by the Ministry of IT.

A petition that highlights industry concerns and was presented by the Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA) will also be reviewed by the committee. Updates on the ministry’s spending, budget, and contract employees’ status are also anticipated from the secretary of the ministry of information technology.

A performance report from the National Telecommunication Corporation (NTC) will also be presented to the committee. Addressing the urgent problems facing the IT industry and suggesting workable solutions are the goals of the gathering.
