Power is cut off to Pakistan Railways due to delinquent bills: K-Electric
Pakistan Railways’ energy has been disconnected by K-Electric since unpaid debts have not been paid.
The decision was made because it is no longer possible to continue providing power without payment, a K-Electric representative said. According to reports, K-Electric is owed Rs. 430 million by Pakistan Railways for 31 electrical connections.
“Pakistan Railways must immediately clear its dues for power restoration,” the official said, noting that several notices and reminders had been sent out prior to the disconnect.
K-Electric is forced to pursue this step because the dues have not been paid, despite repeated promises by Pakistan Railways officials. A continuous electricity supply is impossible without paying outstanding bills, the utility has stressed.
