The Punjab government has approved more than 100 electric buses for Rawalpindi.
The government of Punjab has declared its intention to run 102 electric buses in Rawalpindi.
The 84-kilometer itinerary that the electric buses will travel includes ten important public transportation lines. For this, the provincial government has so far set out Rs 200 million. 4.7 billion rupees for the project. It is anticipated that by reducing environmental pollution, the project will greatly enhance the region’s air quality.
In June, Punjab Transport Minister Bilal Akbar Khan affirmed that the e-bus service will begin the next year. A number of important routes will be served by these buses, including one that links Daulatala and Rawalpindi and another that links Taxila, Wah Cantt, and IJP Road to Aktree 26.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz authorized the project’s expansion in August, bringing the total the total number of electric buses to 200.
