Salary hike for Punjab MPAs: Bill to be presented today

Today at 2:00 PM, the assembly will be chaired by Deputy Speaker Malik Zaheer Channar.

A bill that would raise lawmakers’ salary by Rs. four lacs per month will be presented to the legislature.

From January 1st of next year, if the law is approved by the assembly, an MPA’s present monthly salary of Rs100,000 will be increased by five times, with an additional Rs400,000.

The house will hear the responses to the audit reports and attention call notices. During the sessions, members’ queries concerning the excise and taxes department and drug control were also addressed.

Additionally, the state of law and order in the province will be discussed by the house.
