Shehbaz Sharif congratulates Nawaf Salam for winning the prime ministership in Lebanon.

Nawaf Salam was congratulated by Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday on being elected as Lebanon’s prime minister.

“Pakistan values its ties with Lebanon and looks forward to working with Salam to deepen Pak-Lebanon cooperation,” the prime minister wrote in a social media post on his X account.

The new prime minister of Lebanon is Nawaf Salam, president of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague, who was nominated by two-thirds of the country’s 128 members of parliament.
