Moonis Elahi is exonerated of murder accusations by the court.
Since Moonis Elahi’s Gujrat murder and abetment case was shown to be untrue, the court has overturned its decision to designate him as a proclaimed offender.
Moonis had been living overseas since December 28, 2022, according to Amir Saeed Rana, Begum Qaisra Elahi’s attorney, who told the court that the lawsuit was registered on June 29, 2023. He said that Moonis was identified in the case and was deemed a proclaimed criminal.
Mohammad Akram, the complainant, and witnesses Sajjad Ashraf and Asjad said in their affidavits during the hearing that they had never accused Moonis and that he had nothing to do with the case. In this regard, they stated that they had no plans to take any action against him.
The complainant claimed that the arrest warrant had been obtained illegally by the police and asked the court to revoke it.
Following the complainant’s and witnesses’ statements, Additional Sessions Judge Gujrat, Saifullah Tarar, reversed the decision to designate Moonis Elahi as a proclaimed criminal and sent the matter back to the same court for further review.
