The former prime minister and his wife, Bushra Bibi, were sentenced to prison last week by an accountability court in the 190 million-pound corruption case involving the Al-Qadir Trust.
The decision states that Bushra Bibi has been sentenced to seven years in prison and Imran Khan will serve fourteen years.
Bushra Bibi was fined half a million rupees and Imran Khan was fined one million rupees in addition to his jail sentence. Bushra Bibi will be imprisoned for three months and Imran would be imprisoned for an extra six months if the fine is not paid.
Authorities were also directed by the court to seize control of Al-Qadir University. Bushra Bibi left the courtroom as the verdict was announced and was taken into custody.
