PTI leaders’ non-bailable arrest warrants for the May 9 riots
PTI leaders Omar Ayub Khan, Shibli Faraz, Kanwal Shouzeb, and former member Fawad Chaudhry were all charged with participating in the May 9 riots, and an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Wednesday issued non-bailable arrest warrants for them.
PTI leaders and activists were charged with burning a police van outside the State Bank of Pakistan in the vicinity of the Civil Lines police station after PTI founder Imran Khan was briefly arrested on May 9, 2023.
The judge called the four leaders earlier this month to hear the May 9 complaint, which was filed at the Civil Lines Police Station in Faisalabad. But the leaders had entered a plea, requesting that the hearing be skipped.
The plea was denied, though.
For failing to show up for court today, Judge Javed Iqbal Sheikh issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Ayub, Faraz, Shouzeb, and Fawad.
