Pakistan is worried about US weapons remaining in Afghanistan following the withdrawal of soldiers.
Following the withdrawal of its troops in August 2021, the United States left advance weapons in Afghanistan, which the Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson reaffirmed Wednesday as a matter of grave concern for Pakistan’s and its citizens’ safety and security.
The spokesperson added in a press release in response to questions from the media on the US plan to retrieve advanced weapons that were abandoned in Afghanistan: “Terrorist groups, including the TTP, have used these weapons to carry out terrorist attacks in Pakistan.”
According to the spokesperson, we have been urging Kabul’s de facto authorities to take all necessary steps to prevent these weapons from ending up in the wrong hands.
