On February 12, Lahore’s administrator approves Aurat March while LHC mandates complete security.

The Lahore High Court (LHC) has approved the Aurat March, which is set for February 12, following hearings on applications submitted by activists Leena Ghani and others.

A letter verifying security measures for the march was provided by the government’s legal representative during the hearing, which was presided over by Justice Anwar Hussain. Authorities were instructed by the court to guarantee participants’ unwavering security.

Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Lahore was the target of a contempt of court petition for initially denying permission for the march. However, the issue has been resolved as the DC has now authorized.

After the court’s ruling, the petition was dismissed, allowing the Aurat March to go ahead with formal security measures in place.
