A significant update on the water supply in Islamabad and Rawalpindi
Khanpur Dam will be thoroughly cleaned from February 10 to 19, which will have a severe impact on the water supply to Islamabad and Rawalpindi for 10 days, according to an official announcement.
The daily water deficit in Rawalpindi would be 13 million gallons, while Islamabad will receive 5 million gallons less. Water shortages will occur in a number of locations during this time, including Dhok Hassu, Pirudhai, and Fauji Colony; in Islamabad, these areas will include sectors D-12, G-10, G-11, F-10, F-11, and G-9.
Residents have been advised by authorities to use water sparingly while the supply is still limited until the dam’s restoration is finished.
