The IMF delegation was briefed by Pakistani officials on how to prevent financial crimes, fight money laundering, and control corruption during the talks. Special emphasis was placed on preventing suspicious transactions and terrorist financing, with officials stating that effective steps have been implemented in these areas.
The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) also provided a detailed briefing on its digitalization initiatives, efforts to curb smuggling, and measures to prevent tax evasion. The IMF representatives stressed the need to digitize land records to enhance transparency and governance.

Future meetings
Sources claim that the IMF delegation will continue its discussions today, meeting with representatives of Pakistan’s Supreme Court, Judicial Commission, and Auditor General. Additionally, the delegation will be briefed on constitutional and legal foundations as well as judicial appointment procedures.
