There is a lot of room for Pakistan and Bahrain to increase their bilateral cooperation: Ayaz

The Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, stated on Tuesday that Pakistan and Bahrain have enduring and strong relations founded on common religious, cultural, and historical values.

These similarities have cultivated mutual respect and understanding, establishing a basis for productive bilateral collaboration across all fields. Both nations have persistently collaborated to enhance regional stability, economic development, and cultural exchange, forging a resilient partnership that has endured throughout time, he stated.

He articulated these opinions during a discussion with Mohamed Ebrahim Mohamed Abdulqadar, the Ambassador of Bahrain to Pakistan, in the Parliament House.

Ayaz Sadiq underscored the crucial function of proactive Parliamentary Friendship Groups (PFGs) in enhancing relations between Pakistan and Bahrain.

He observed that activating the Pak-Bahrain PFG would foster tighter relations between parliaments and their constituents.

These exchanges enable direct communication between parliamentarians, allowing both nations to comprehend each other’s goals and collaborate on addressing shared difficulties. Parliamentary exchanges serve as a forum for the dissemination of knowledge, exemplary practices, and new ideas.

The Bahraini parliamentary delegation, led by Ahmed Bin Salman Al Musallam, President of the Council of Representatives of Bahrain, will visit Pakistan from February 16 to 19 at the special invitation of Ayaz Sadiq.

The Speaker emphasized that these visits are essential for identifying prospects in trade, investment, and commerce.

He further stated that the Speakers of the four Provincial Assemblies, together with those from Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, will receive special invitations for the event.

The incorporation of Provincial Speakers, he stated, will augment the provinces’ involvement in parliamentary diplomacy.

The Speaker highlighted the significant potential for expansion in trade and investment, especially in Pakistan’s agriculture sector.

Pakistan’s extensive fertile land, varied climate, and strategic location render it an ideal partner for Bahrain in the agricultural and food security sectors.

“Expanding bilateral trade in these sectors will enable both nations to benefit from enhanced market access, technological exchange, and economic diversification.” This economic alliance corresponds with Bahrain’s objective to diversify its economy and diminish its dependence on oil exports, presenting new opportunities for growth in other industries.

Ayaz Sadiq emphasized the significant contributions of the Pakistani diaspora in Bahrain, who are essential to the advancement of both nations, alongside economic engagement.

The diaspora’s engagement encompasses multiple sectors, such as commerce, education, healthcare, and construction, considerably aiding Bahrain’s development while fostering robust economic and cultural connections between the two nations. Their participation also acts as a conduit for enhancing social and cultural connections, fostering mutual comprehension and cooperation at the grassroots level, he noted.

Mohamed Abdulqadar conveyed gratitude for the Speaker’s remarks, underscoring that parliamentary dialogues are crucial for enhancing bilateral relations.

The ambassador emphasized the significance of these encounters in enhancing diplomatic relations and promoting cross-cultural communication.
