DG IAEA visits the power plant in Chashma

Rafael Mariano Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), visited Unit 5 of the Chashma power station, which is currently under construction.

The IAEA chairman described Pakistan’s nuclear power generation program as “one of the most successful nuclear power generation programs,” according to the Foreign Office.

He emphasized nuclear power’s contribution to the production of more environmentally friendly and decarbonized electricity.

At Chashma, he also opened an incinerator for radioactive waste.
