22 Indian fisherman were sent to the Wagah border after being released from Karachi jail.

Twenty-two Indian fisherman have been freed from Karachi’s Malir Jail. They were transported by bus to the Wagah Border in order to return to India.

The Edhi Foundation will pay for all of the fishermen’s transportation costs from the jail to the border, a spokesman said.

Most violations occur due to the absence of a physical boundary and lack of navigational tools for small fishermen. Hundreds of fishermen are arrested by the Coast Guards of both nations, but obtaining their release is difficult and long-winded owing to the hostile relations between the two nations.
