Senators’ salaries have been raised to Rs519,000.

The Senate Finance Committee has approved a pay rise for senators, increasing their monthly compensation to Rs519,000, which will take effect on January 1.
The Senate chairman’s and deputy chairman’s salary, however, will not alter.
Under the direction of Acting Senate Syedal Khan Nasir, the Senate Finance Committee made the decision at a meeting at Parliament House. Senator Liaquat Khan, Saleem Mandviwala, and Shahadat Awan were among the committee members present. Maulana Attaur Rehman and opposition leader Shibli Faraz, however, were not present.
Senator Saleem Mandviwala acknowledged the pay increase in an interview after the meeting. According to him, the rise was authorized in accordance with the National Assembly’s ruling, guaranteeing that senators’ pay would now be comparable to that of National Assembly members.
“The salary increase has been approved under the act passed by parliament, and it will be implemented from January 1,” said Mandviwala.
