Pakistan calls for a ceasefire and long-term peace in Gaza.

On Tuesday, Pakistan’s ambassador, Asim Iftikhar, underlined the importance of an immediate and comprehensive ceasefire in Gaza. Ambassador Iftikhar told the UN Security Council that the Council should not back down from the forced expulsion of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip. “The Middle East’s instability stems from Israel’s illegal occupation,” he stated, emphasizing the need for the international community to give the building of a lasting peace in the occupied Palestinian territories top priority. According to the envoy, Israel’s aggression in the West Bank must end right once since occupation and coercion cannot bring about stability.
