Investigators are reprimanded by the court for neglecting to provide challan copies for instances from May 9.

Investigating authorities were chastised by an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) for neglecting to provide full copies of challans in 13 cases pertaining to the events of May 9.

The hearing was presided over by Judge Amjad Ali Shah, and copies of the charge sheets were to be given to each of the 429 accused. Police stations were previously ordered by the court to furnish entire copies of the challan. The judge, however, gave a severe warning for noncompliance and mandated submission by the following hearing date.

Sheikh Rashid Ahmed and Fayyaz-ul-Hassan Chohan were among those who appeared in court; Omar Ayub, Shibli Faraz, Shireen Mazari, and Ali Muhammad Khan were among the other defendants who requested exemptions and were not present.

Arson occurrences at GHQ Gate 1, the Metro Bus Station, and a critical government building in Saddar are among the cases.

The hearing on the 13 cases has now been postponed by the court.
