A mosque explosion in Lower South Waziristan has injured numerous people.

The Friday blast in a mosque in the Lower South Waziristan neighborhood of Azam Warsak Bazar injured dozens of worshippers, including a Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) ameer.

Police sources claim that the explosion happened during Friday prayers. Ameer Maulana Abdullah Nadeem of JUI District was hurt in the explosion.

Security personnel and rescue crews arrived at the scene shortly after the incident. While security personnel have roped off the area, emergency crews took the injured to the hospital.
