High-level changes at the Pakistani Election Commission

In a high-level organisational shift, Sharifullah was named the Punjab Provincial Election Commissioner (PEC) by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

Sharifullah was assigned as Punjab PEC before becoming PEC Sindh. Farid Afridi, the provincial election commissioner for Balochistan, was assigned to Peshawar as the joint provincial election commissioner.

Ijaz Anwar Chauhan, the Election Commissioner of Punjab, was moved to Sindh to serve as the next Provincial Election Commissioner in yet another significant reorganisation. The Additional Director General, Ali Asghar Sial, was also assigned to the position of Balochistan Provincial Election Commissioner.

Aleem Shahab, the Joint Election Commissioner, was also appointed Additional Director General.
