A fishing boat capsizes in the Indus River, killing one person.

One fisherman was killed when a fishing boat carrying fishermen capsized in the Indus River at Kotri Barrage on Thursday; two others were saved.

The fisherman had gone fishing at night when the tragedy happened. The boat overturned after colliding with a bridge structure due to the high water current. A 50-year-old fisherman, Khuda Bakhsh alias Khudan Mallah, a resident of Darya Band Colony in Kotri, drowned in the river as a result.

The drowned fisherman’s son informed that the boat overturned after hitting the bridge pillar, and his father was swept away by the water. He and his brother managed to save themselves by holding onto the boat.
