A new feature for extended voice notes has been released by WhatsApp.
Extended audio messages can now be shared in status updates on WhatsApp, thanks to a new feature that has been released.
Unlike the 30-second status updates that were previously available, users of the instant messaging platform will now have the option to record a one-minute voice message.
Sending longer voice messages—up to a minute—is now possible for WhatsApp users thanks to this new functionality.
For the status updates, they won’t have to record several voice notes that last for 30 seconds each.
Users must press the microphone icon in the bottom right corner to record a voice note, much like they would when recording a message in the chat.
In order to utilize the newest functionality, users must upgrade their software through the software Store or Google Play Store.
WhatsApp first started developing the Voice Status feature in February 2023, having worked on it since 2022.
WhatsApp users will need to actively check for updates or set up the app to automatically download the most recent versions as soon as they become available, even though other additions are typically added in an automated update.
Notably, the messaging platform is implementing the feature gradually, so some users may not receive the update at all and will have to wait for it.
This feature was simultaneously released for all users, whereas WhatsApp typically rolls out new features in beta.
