A wounded leopard that was saved from AJK dies in Islamabad.
After being rescued from Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), the injured leopard died at the veterinary clinic in Islamabad, the Islamabad Wildlife Management Board (IWMB) reported.
X-ray photos revealed many bullet wounds and significant spinal injuries after the leopard was rescued from Hatila Balla in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and taken to a veterinary clinic in Islamabad for better medical care.
The predator died as a result of his serious injuries, despite the medical team’s best efforts.
The IWMB official stated that the rescued leopard was around 6 and a half years old and weighed 63 kg.
Leopards play a vital part in preserving the natural equilibrium of their habitat. The loss of their habitat, encroachment, generally for real estate, retaliatory kills by enraged farmers, and illegal hunting are some of the major dangers they face in Pakistan.
The mountains and woods of Pakistan are home to the fastest land mammal in the world. As a result of human-induced activities, their number has been rapidly declining for years.
Conservation efforts have been made to try to save leopards and their habitats, but not to the extent that is necessary to keep the stunning species from becoming extinct.
The Nani Mandir in Hinglaj, a town in the Lasbela area of Balochistan province, is where a Persian leopard was discovered back in April.
In the Hingol National Park on the coast of Balochistan, a pilgrim who was on his way to the shrine found the predator.
Known locally as “phulang,” this Persian leopard is indigenous to Hingol National Park.
