According to sources, the government accepts PTI’s offer of negotiations.

The invitation of a “political dialogue” by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to break the current impasse in the nation has been welcomed by the PML-N-led government.

The PTI has “contacted for talks,” according to official sources, and the government has accepted the offer “to foster an environment of reconciliation in the country.”

The government, according to the sources, “has always emphasised resolving issues through political dialogue.”

Negotiations, not turmoil, are the way to go in politics, they added.

PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar, Opposition Leader Omar Ayub, and Sahibzada Hamid Raza reportedly met with Speaker of the National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq.

The meeting was also attended by Azam Nazir Tarar, Minister of Law and Parliamentary Affairs.

The PTI delegation offered the speaker their condolences on his sister’s death.

According to sources, the speaker recommended holding talks in the parliamentary forum, a suggestion that the PTI agreed with.

The insiders noted that the talks will be held without any preconditions and that their goal is to lessen the nation’s ongoing tensions and political instability.

Following discussions amongst the parties, the identities of the negotiation teams will soon be disclosed.

Meanwhile, the PTI has appointed a five-person negotiation committee on behalf of the party’s founder.

PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan emphasised the importance of floor discussions in the National Assembly on Wednesday.

People would have to struggle for their democratic rights, according to a previous statement made by PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja.
