Adil Bazai is reinstated as MNA from NA-262 Quetta by ECP.
In an official announcement, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) said that the previous November 21 notification had been halted in accordance with the Supreme Court of Pakistan’s ruling.
Adil Bazai will now be an independent member of the lower house and will no longer be associated with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), according to the ECP.
The electoral authority reaffirmed that it would hold off on notifying voters that Bazai had been defeated until the Supreme Court’s final decision.
Following a ruling from the supreme court, the ECP was also suspended by election in NA-262.
Adil Bazai had initially filed an affidavit of affiliation with the PML-N after winning the election as an independent. He then filed a second oath paper regarding joining the Sunni Ittehad Council.
According to a reference submitted by PML-N President Nawaz Sharif, he was disqualified for allegedly breaking party rules during voting on the 26th constitutional amendment and the budget.
The Supreme Court later reversed the disqualification. Until a final court decision, the apex court reinstated Bazai’s NA membership and suspended the ECP’s decision.
