Professor Ahsan Iqbal, Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives, presided over a meeting in Islamabad on Thursday to discuss the operational and governance plan of the Seerat Center Lahore project and to assess its progress.
During the discussion, Ahsan Iqbal gave the appropriate authorities instructions to hasten Seerat Centers’ operationalization. He also oversaw the establishment of well-stocked libraries to support scholarly research and the hiring of faculty.
The Seerat Chairs in public sector universities are intended to provide future generations with a contemporary education and to disseminate intellectual and ideological teachings that are influenced by the Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH), the Minister of Planning emphasized.
According to him, the project includes the start of a world-class center for gender studies and women’s rights, the installation of nine Seerat Chairs in public sector universities, and the development of an endowment fund to assist academic and research endeavors.
