Ahsan oversees the preparation of the business plan for PakSat-MM1.
On Tuesday, Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives Professor Ahsan Iqbal instructed the Pakistan Space & Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco) to prepare a detailed business plan for the newly launched PakSat-MM1, the nation’s inaugural multi-mission satellite.
He issued these directions during a meeting with Suparco Chairman Muhammad Yousaf Khan, who visited him, according to a news release.
The summit concentrated on several critical efforts, including the commercialization of the PakSat-MM1 satellite and progress in agricultural monitoring technologies.
The minister underscored the necessity of partnering with the Ministry of Information Technology to devise a comprehensive strategy for the satellite’s commercialization to optimize its advantages.
The chairman of Suparco informed the minister about the organization’s initiatives in contemporary agricultural monitoring, which are assisting farmers in attaining enhanced crop yields.
Ahsan Iqbal instructed Suparco staff to synchronize their efforts with the Land Information and Management System for the purpose of gathering unified data.
He emphasized the necessity of fortifying partnerships with other institutions to augment the efficacy of satellite remote sensing and geographic information systems (GIS) for the enhancement of commercial processes.
The minister reaffirmed intentions to host a conference later this month titled “URAAN Pakistan” at the Institute of Space Technology.
The symposium, entitled “Beyond the Stars, New Worlds Await,” seeks to emphasize burgeoning prospects in space exploration and study.
