Aliza Sultan cautions against the practice of marrying at a young age.
Sultan, who was formerly married to actor Feroze Khan, shared her own experiences and provided advice to individuals getting ready for this important milestone in a candid question-and-answer session.
Married at the young age of 22, Sultan’s marriage to Khan concluded with a prominent and controversial divorce. Despite the obstacles, such as charges of abuse that were exposed but not legally prosecuted, Aliza Sultan is currently dedicated to raising her two children and progressing in her life.
Sultan underscored the significance of careful deliberation prior to getting into matrimony while speaking to her audience. She emphasised the need of marrying a responsible individual who possesses good character.
“Responsibility is an essential characteristic that should not be disregarded.”
Sultan also emphasised her conviction that early weddings can be premature, using her own experience as an example.
“I got married when I was 22, and now, at the age of 28, I have experienced a great deal of the world.” Upon reflection, I now recognise that the age of 22 was too premature to undertake such a significant commitment. When the time comes for my daughter to get married, I will make sure that she is at an age where she is capable of taking care of herself alone.
