Prime Minister Shehbaz hosted a banquet in honor of coalition partners, with members from all central parties in attendance, excluding the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).
The PPP has been excused from attending the meal due to a concurrent meeting in the President’s House.
Representatives from the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Balochistan Awami Party (BAP), and Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) were present at the ceremony.
Sources indicated that Prime Minister Shehbaz requested their collaboration on significant legislation. The prime minister stated, “We (the federal government) will enact significant legislation in the forthcoming days and require support from our coalition partners.”

In his briefing on the nation’s economic condition, Prime Minister Shehbaz stated that everyone are cognizant of the government’s standing when the Pakistan Democratic Movement assumed power. He stated that his administration averted the nation from defaulting.
The sources indicated that coalition partners reaffirmed their support for PM Shehbaz’s leadership and governmental decisions, commending his performance.
Simultaneously, the prime minister instructed all government officials to remain in Islamabad, underscoring the necessity for unified backing on all governmental actions, including legislative matters.
A state-operated news outlet said that the prime minister credited the economic advancement to the government’s initiatives, initiated in April 2022, aimed at preventing the country from defaulting. He asserted that the economic team’s endeavors had not only stabilized the economy but also positioned it for growth.

Independent Senator Abdul Qadir introduced ‘The Supreme Court (Number of Judges) Amendment Bill, 2024’ in the upper chamber to augment the number of Supreme Court judges to 21.
A measure introduced in the lower house by PML-N legislator Daniyal Chaudhry proposed raising the number of justices in the Supreme Court to 23.
