Among the world’s most polluted cities are Karachi and Lahore.
New Delhi, the capital of India, topped the list of the most polluted cities in the world.
The Air Quality Index readings for Karachi and Lahore are 198 and 192, respectively.
Delhi, India, has an AQI reading of 252.
Here, it should be noted that an AQI score of 151-200 is deemed unhealthy, a reading of 201-300 is more detrimental, and a result of 300 or higher is exceedingly dangerous.
Experts claim that because the air gets heavier in the winter, harmful particles in the atmosphere travel downward and pollute the atmosphere. This causes an area to be covered in a layer of contaminated particles, such as smoke and high levels of carbon.\
According to specialists, smoke from industries, burning coal, trash, oil, or tires penetrates the atmosphere and has an effect that starts in the winter and lasts until the end of the season.
Even though Karachi’s southwestern winds, which originate from the sea, filter the air, they typically stay suspended during the winter.
